
“Welcome to the 1st of April 2021 special edition of the Old War Office Construction Newsletter, providing an update on the works taking place behind the hoarding at 57 Whitehall
“We have obtained permission from Westminster Council to remove our remaining Tower Crane over the weekend of 10th and 11th April 2021.
The works will entail the complete closure of Whitehall Pace to all traffic over this weekend.
In order to limit traffic disruption, the works are planned to commence in the early hours of Saturday morning 10th April and continue until late Sunday evening 11th April 2021.
The dismantling works for Tower Crane 2 will follow the same sequence as the dismantling works undertaken for Tower Crane 1 in April last year. The works will be undertaken by Trident Tower Cranes.
The planned schedule is as follows –
Saturday 10th April 2021
- Trident take possession of Whitehall Place at 2am
- Diversion signs and fencing by Trident Traffic management placed from 2am to 3am
- Mobile Crane and Slave Crane arrive at 2.30am and start rigging
- Mobile Crane Rigged by 7.30am
- Team briefing and inductions complete by 8am.
- Dismantle works cease by 8pm
Sunday 11th April 2021
- Dismantle commences at 7am
- Dismantle completion by 6pm
- Mobile Crane De-Rigged by 10pm
- Site clear and tidy
Whitehall Place will be closed to traffic however the footpath will remain open as shown on the attached plan.
